They say that a camera is a passport. I believe this. My camera has given me the ability to travel the world, to become an adventurer. It has given me access in a way I don’t believe I would have had otherwise, and it consistently changes my life.

I’m driven to explore and capture unique stories of real people in unreal places. But here’s my hot-take: Vérité is not real. It is impossible to hide, to truly fade into the background leaving our subjects behaviors unchanged. I’ve found quite the opposite works better. It’s not enough to simply acknowledge my and my camera’s existence, but rather fully embrace my acceptance into my subject’s world so intimately that they become completely comfortable with me in their space and are able to seamlessly carry on as if I’ve been there our entire lives. I become one of them. War photographer, Robert Capa, said “If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough,” and I couldn’t agree more. Becoming a proper part of their trusted world lets me connect and experience the real story from the inside.

Combining this art with my love for tech continuously allows me to live my ephemeralization-minded dream of traveling further and creating more, at the highest levels, all with less and less. Addicted to the journey and the process, I’m an FAA Licensed drone pilot, CSI certified colorist, Cinematographer, Photographer, and Editor. I bring all of my tricks to this trade and would trade it for nothing.
