Life Below Zero

Working with the marketing team at National Geographic we produced, directed and edited the launch trailer for this veteran series. We supplemented show footage with custom live action macro elements shot in the studio using a custom rig. Unique to this project, we fixed a RED Epic Dragon to a 1950’s Russian medium format camera, focusing the lens of the RED on the ground glass of the Medium Format cam. We achieved a unique custom vintage look to film the thermometer plummeting down to zero in camera.
